I built the sound and the surface of a streaming brand: the jingle it opens with, the identities its programmes wear, and the covers that carry it. A thousand of them.

01 — Motion & sound

The jingle

The brand’s opening signature: motion graphics and sound design. Six seconds, the only part of the identity that works with your eyes shut. It plays at the top of this page, silently, until you ask for sound.

0.55 s Synth bed only. The mark is barely there.
0.91 s The click. The mark lands on the loudest frame.
1.95 s Choir in. The seven icons orbit, wide across the field.
3.30 s Everything collapses into the lockup. Unresolved.

Seven categories, seven marks

Custom icons for the content categories, the shapes you just watched orbit the mark. Solid silhouettes, so they hold at favicon size and still carry weight filling a screen.

What the sound is doing

The idea
A click, then a choir arriving with the light. It takes the shape of the VHS-era studio idents, that big surrounding THX-on-a-CRT sound, rebuilt with a modern choir. A synth bed runs before the click. The choir enters after it, synth still underneath.
The move
The swell before the click sits on F♯7sus4: F♯, B, C♯, E. The choir lands a tritone away on a C major 7th with the 13th, keeping E in the bass rather than C. The suspension never resolves and the chord never gets its root underneath it. The tension is the point. The film is the payoff, not the logo.
Shape
Silence until 0.41 s, a half-second rise, then the hit at 0.91 s, the frame where the mark lands. It holds within 10 dB of that peak to 2.81 s, then decays to silence by 4.79 s, leaving the animation to finish in quiet.
Register & width
Mid-forward. 77% of the energy sits between 250 Hz and 2.5 kHz, almost nothing below 80 Hz, so it survives a phone speaker. True stereo, not widened mono: the channels correlate at 0.54, letting the choir open out around the centred click.

Timing, level and width measured from the delivered master. Chord names read from a spectral analysis of it: the pitches are unambiguous, the naming is one reading.

The one before it

My earlier jingle for ZeeVision, for the identity they used before the mark changed. One orange line draws a rounded square, folds into a Z, and resolves to the old wordmark.

03 — ZeeTalk

A programme inside the brand

The motion wall behind the hosts. A two-minute loop at 16:10, cycling the ZeeTalk and ZeeVision marks over a slow gradient. It had to hold a camera that long without pulling focus from the people in front of it.

The ZeeTalk studio: three people at a desk, the motion wall running behind them with the programme logo on it.
On set The wall in use, the mark where the camera frames it.

Title screen

The mark arrives the way a neon sign warms up. The bubble and lettering draw on as a thin outline, colour running round the edge, blue into orange, before the shape floods to solid. The logo clears and the host card takes the frame. Ten seconds, cut into the top of an episode.

The outline-then-fill order is the point. Drawing the bubble first says conversation before the word is legible, so the show is announced by its shape rather than its name. That matters on a thumbnail, more for viewers who don’t read Persian. The host credit lands on black with nothing competing for it.

On sound: every ZeeTalk master so far is silent. The title files carry no audio track, the wall’s is digital silence end to end. The player is wired for sound and switches on the moment a master with audio replaces the file.

04 — Covers

A thousand of these

Website thumbnails, posters and cover images for film and series across the catalogue. Thirty-three shown. The house style had to survive horror, documentary, Persian drama and children’s comedy without becoming a template. Scroll to move the rows. Click any cover to open it.

A catalogue brand is not one image. It is the thousandth image still looking like the first.

Most of this was volume work: a cover a day, often more, on a schedule set by the release calendar. The constraint was never making one good thumbnail. It was making the two hundredth still read as ZeeVision at 320 pixels wide, in a grid beside two hundred others.

The decisions that mattered were systemic: where type sits, how far a title can stray before it stops being ours, which colours the brand owns and which it borrows from the film. I also trained the junior designers working inside that system, and consulted on marketing.
